Biostar's Product Manager Vicky Wang gave an interview to the Korean publication Brainbox, in which she talked about the company's upcoming motherboards based on new AMD and Intel chipsets. Interestingly, shortly after the interview was published, Biostar stated that the information in it was incorrect, although it did not specify which part. Additionally, Brainbox removed part of the interview about future motherboards, but Tomās Hardware had already prepared its own material on the matter. The Biostar manager stated that we can expect new motherboards with AMD and Intel chipsets in the near future. Moreover, it was noted that motherboards based on the long-awaited AMD B550 chipset are already fully ready to hit the market.
Unfortunately, a specific date for the launch of motherboards based on the new mid-range AMD chipset has not been announced. However, back in the summer, DigiTimes reported that the production of motherboards on AMD B550 and the lower AMD A520 chipset was set to begin already So the new products should appear on shelves either by the end of this year or at the beginning of the next.
Regarding the new Intel 400 series chipsets intended for the upcoming Comet Lake-S desktop processors, motherboards based on them are expected to be released next year. This aligns with a recent leak indicating that the 14nm processors are set to debut in the first half of 2020. The Biostar manager mentions that motherboards based on three chipsets are in preparation. Most likely, these will be the flagship Intel Z490, the mid-range Intel B460, and the lower-end Intel H410. However, they do not seem to be coming anytime soon.
