The new Microsoft Edge browser for PC hasn't even reached beta status yet (only Canary and Dev versions are available), but the developers are already adding the ability to sync favorites in the Android build.
In the version for the mobile OS numbered 42.0.2.3420, this feature is enabled for all users. Previously, it was available only to a select few. Currently, this feature only supports syncing favorites, but in the future, it is planned to also transfer passwords, autofill data, tabs, and much more. Overall, it's similar to what competing products offer.
The idea behind synchronization is quite understandable. Nowadays, many people use smartphones and tablets, so it makes sense to expect the same browser across all platforms. Passwords can be entered on PC while they are automatically synced on mobile devices.
Of course, for now, this feature is more a reminder of product development than a real tool. Microsoft Edge based on Chromium for PC is available, but like any early version, it has issues. In particular, these issues as slower performance compared to other browsers.
However, it seems that those in Redmond are very enthusiastic and believe that the new browser will improve the market situation for Microsoft. How this will actually turn out will be clear by the end of the year when the company releases the final version.
