First of all, the window for selecting templates for a new project was redesigned to simplify and speed up the start of development as much as possible. The environment also received built-in tools for working with a distributed version control system, so that, whether it's GitHub or Azure Repos, cloning a repository will take you just a few clicks.

One of the key innovations of the product is the Microsoft Visual Studio Live Share tool, which is a service for joint programming, thanks to which you can easily connect to your colleague's editor or he to yours.
Now you can search for settings, commands, and installation options right in the search bar. The new search has become much smarter, allowing you to search for everything, up to expressions with errors.
As you write code, you will immediately notice that Visual Studio 2019 has received new navigation and refactoring capabilities. A special indicator will report syntactic and stylistic problems in the code and help you apply a whole set of rules for its optimization.
Debugging capabilities have also been improved, including .NET Core application breakpoints to help you track changes to exactly the variables you need.
Another novelty is the Visual Studio IntelliCode smart assistant, which will be responsible for code completion, thereby significantly reducing the time and increasing the convenience of typing. As promised by Microsoft, the tool has some AI (artificial intelligence) and adapts to your personal programming style.
All new features are available for both existing and new projects, from cross-platform C++ applications to .NET mobile applications. Android and iOS apps built using Xamarin, and cloud apps using Azure services. Visual Studio 2019 aims to provide the most comprehensive set of tools for development, testing, debugging, and even deployment, minimizing the need to switch between different apps, portals, and websites.
To speed up and simplify the transition to the new version of Visual Studio, Microsoft, with the support of the Pluralsight and LinkedIn Learning learning portals, has launched training courses that will help both veterans and newcomers to master all the new tools. Please note that the course on Pluralsight will be free until April 22nd and on LinkedIn Learning until May 2nd.
Also as part of the Visual Studio 2019 launch event, Microfost will hold presentations and talks around the world. The presentation in Moscow is scheduled for April 4, and in St. Petersburg - for April 18.
