A new version of the free editor has been released Minder for creating mind maps.
Features of the editor:
- You can create multiple root nodes in a map
- Convenient keyboard controls are available
- You can customize the appearance of maps and individual nodes
- A built-in set of stickers for nodes is available
- Markdown support is included in node text
- Headings and notes can be added to connections (as well as to nodes)
- You can visually group neighboring nodes
- Nodes can be inserted in a simple built-in text editor (Quick Entry), forming a hierarchy with indentation
- There is a focus mode: the entire path from the root node to the selected node is highlighted, while all other nodes and their branches are shaded
- Clickable links can be created from one node to another
- Import from Freemind, Freeplane, OPML, Markdown, PlantUML, XMind 8 and 2021
- Export: the same plus Mermaid, org-mode, Yed, SVG, PDF, JPEG, PNG
Technological stack: Vala + GTK3.
Changes in this version (see screenshot):
- Support for links in notes for nodes, connections, and groups has been added
- Support for custom stickers has been added
- Callouts can now be attached to nodes
- A node alignment panel has been added for relative positioning with the selected 'Manual' layout (automatic layout upon node creation is disabled)
- A scaling adjustment setting has been added for exporting to PNG/JPEG
