After five months of development, the release of 0.39.0 of the popular open-source media player has taken place. MPV.

- Multitouch support has been introduced for improved user interaction.
- The track selection system for multilingual components has been improved.
- Compatibility with dmabuf-wayland has been enhanced for Wayland users.
- A new script select.lua has been added, allowing users to easily select files from playlists, tracks, chapters, output devices, and more.
- A new option —autocreate-playlist has been introduced for demultiplexing.
- A new pitch adjustment feature for audio has been added.

Internal updates include the use of FFmpeg 6.1 or newer as well as libplacebo 6.338.2 or newer. This version also fixes many bugs, especially for Wayland users.
