Mushkin Helix-L: NVMe SSD drives with capacities up to 1 TB

Mushkin has released solid-state drives from the Helix-L series, with initial information about them a new feature has emerged during the January CES 2019 electronics show.

The products are designed in the M.2 2280 format (22 × 80 mm). This allows them to be used in both desktop and portable computers, including ultrabooks.

The drives are PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.3 solutions. They utilize 3D TLC flash memory chips (three bits of information per cell) and the Silicon Motion SM2263XT controller.

The Helix-L family includes three models with capacities of 250 GB, 500 GB, and 1 TB. The sequential read speed reaches 2110 MB/s, while the sequential write speed is 1700 MB/s.

The devices can perform up to 240,000 input/output operations per second (IOPS) for random data reading and up to 260,000 operations for random writing.

It is mentioned that S.M.A.R.T. monitoring tools are supported. The average stated mean time between failures is 1.5 million hours. The drives come with a three-year warranty.

Unfortunately, there is currently no information about the estimated price of the Helix-L series solutions.
