Canonical and Lenovo are expanding the program for pre-installing Linux on ThinkPad and ThinkStation devices. 29 models of ThinkPad laptops and ThinkStation workstations will be available for purchase with pre-installed Ubuntu 20.04. Previously, Lenovo planned The Ubuntu 20.04 distribution is certified for 22 models of Lenovo ThinkPads and 7 models of ThinkStations. On these devices, proprietary NVIDIA drivers included in the basic package are operational. Access to popular applications such as Visual Studio Code, Slack, Spotify, Plex, and JetBrains is provided via the Snap Store. Newly included are fresh developer tools (Ruby 2.7, Python 3.8, and GCC 9.3). A new theme and support for dark and light interface modes have been offered. A revamped configurator is available, simplifying the setup of Wi-Fi, desktop wallpapers, and applications.
