The testing of the alpha version of the openSUSE Leap 15.4 distribution has begun, formed based on a core set of packages, unified with the SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 4 distribution and also including some user applications from the openSUSE Tumbleweed repository. A universal DVD image is available for download, sized at 3.9 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x).
Until mid-February, alpha builds with rolling package updates are planned to be published regularly. On February 16, the transfer of new versions will be halted, and the distribution will move to the beta testing stage using a repository maintenance model similar to releases. The release of openSUSE Leap 15.4 is expected on June 8, 2022. Support for the openSUSE Leap 15.3 branch will be provided for 6 months after the release of 15.4. Maintenance for the 15.2 branch will be discontinued at the end of this month.
