Our team won: TopCoder Open 2019.

The TopCoder Open 2019 championship final took place in Houston from November 13-16, and Gennady Korotkevich (Belarus) took first place in two competitive tracks: Algorithm and Marathon. No one has ever managed to achieve this in one year before! A great end to the 2019 season, where Gennady also won the finals of two other major competitions: Google Code Jam and Facebook Hacker Cup.

Topcoder Open is an annual individual professional programming tournament organized by Topcoder Inc. It has been held under the Topcoder system since 2001. There are six types of competitions in Topcoder: Algorithm, Development, First2Finish, UI Design, UI Prototype, and Marathon.

Marathon Match (MM) is an optimization problem, the correct answer to which is unknown even to the organizers. The programmer must propose the most efficient solution in a short period.

Algorithm (SRM) is classic competitive programming. Participants have one and a half hours to solve problems in Java, C#, C++, or Python.

Gennady Korotkevich was born in 1994 in Belarus. In 2012, he entered the Saint Petersburg Institute of Technology, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) in the Information Technology and Programming Faculty. In 2018, he decided to continue his studies in the graduate program at ITMO.
