LaCie, a division of Seagate Technology, has launched the 2big RAID external storage, which will be available for order very soon.
The new model features two IronWolf Pro enterprise-class hard drives, ensuring enhanced reliability. The drives can be configured in RAID 0, RAID 1, or JBOD arrays.
For connectivity to a computer, it uses a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C interface, providing a bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps. The stated data transfer speed reaches 440 MB/s.
The 2big RAID solution is housed in an aluminum case designed to reduce noise and vibration. It is available in a single color option — dark gray Space Gray.
This product is suitable for use with computers running Apple macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It comes with a five-year warranty.
Customers can choose from three versions of the LaCie 2big RAID with total capacities of 4 TB, 8 TB, and 16 TB. Prices are $420, $530, and $740, respectively.
