Google has introduced a new feature in its Gboard keyboard for Android aimed at emoji lovers. A completely new panel — Emoji Bar — has been added to access the most frequently used emojis, where users can find their favorite emoticons.
Of course, if the feature turns out to be not very useful, or if the virtual keyboard takes up too much space, this panel can be hidden or reset. It seems that Google is gradually rolling out the feature among users, so it may not be available to everyone just yet, but it's only a matter of days.
Interestingly, Google has removed the classic search button in the Messages app, replacing it with a full panel at the top of the screen (this change is also being rolled out gradually). Previously, Google made similar changes in several of its main applications like Gmail, Drive, and others, but there are still a few apps that use the old style.
Reminder: In April, Google removed the search button from Gboard, even eliminating the option to display it from the settings. This button used to provide a quick preview of search results for the current term being typed. The same functionality can be invoked in the tools list via the menu by tapping the three dots and selecting the search line.
