With the end of support for the Windows 7 operating system, more and more users are transitioning to Windows 10. Currently, Windows 10 holds 57.34% of the market (down from 57.39% in February), followed by Windows 7 with a share of 26.23% (up from 25.20% in February). In third place is Windows 8.1 with a market share of 3.69% (up from 3.48% in February), followed by macOS 10.14 with a share of 2.62% (down from 2.77% in February).
According to published data, Netmarketshare recorded a slight increase in the popularity of the Google Chrome browser. This web browser currently holds 68.50% of the market (up from 67.27% in February), followed by Microsoft Edge, which holds 7.59% of the market (up from 7.39%). The share of Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer is 7.19% (down from 7.57% in February) and 5.87% (down from 6.38% in February), respectively.
Overall, the situation in the global market over the past month has been stable. The Windows 10 OS in March 2020 did not take a significant lead, however, we see a slight increase in the share of Windows 7, likely due to an influx of users utilizing their home computers for remote work. The Google Chrome browser added 1%, while the share of Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer fell by about 1%.
