In an interview with WIRED, actor Norman Reedus talked about how he got involved in and whether he plans to collaborate with Kojima in the future.
"It all started when Guillermo del Toro called me and said, 'A guy named Hideo Kojima will call you soon. Just say 'yes'.' I asked, 'Who is this?' He said, 'It doesn't matter, just say 'yes'," Norman Reedus shared. He met Hideo Kojima—the creator of the Metal Gear series—at Comic-Con in San Diego. Soon, the actor began working with the game designer on Silent Hills, but ultimately the project Fortunately, Kojima had another game idea in mind—Death Stranding. "He showed me what he was working on, and I was blown away. I mean, this guy is a super genius. So I became friends with him, started working with him, and we kept on working together," Reedus shared.
Norman Reedus stated that Death Stranding became a huge hit (although Sony Interactive Entertainment has yet to disclose the game's sales). The actor is currently in talks with Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions for the next project. Rumor has it that the studio reviving the Silent Hill series.
Norman Reedus played the lead role in Death Stranding. His character, Sam Porter Bridges, is a courier responsible for the future of humanity after the apocalypse severed the connection between people and destroyed cities on the Earth's surface.
