Technology companies and mobile gadget manufacturers have long promoted various ways to reduce the negative impact of blue light emitted by device screens on users' well-being. The new version of the popular Opera 55 browser for the Android platform introduces an updated dark mode, which helps reduce eye strain when interacting with gadgets.
The main changes include that Opera now not only alters the browser interface but also darkens any web pages, even if they do not have this feature enabled. The new function modifies the CSS of web pages, allowing the white background to be turned black instead of simply reducing the intensity of white brightness. Additionally, users will be able to adjust the color temperature, significantly reducing the amount of blue light emitted by the mobile gadget's display. Furthermore, users can also lower the brightness of the on-screen keyboard when dark mode is activated.
"By releasing the new version of Opera, we made our browser very dark. We made sure that you won’t disturb others who are trying to sleep. You will also feel more comfortable and relaxed when it’s time to set your device aside before bed," said Opera’s Product Manager for Android, Stefan Stjernelund.
