The release of the Monitorix 3.14.0 monitoring system has been presented, designed for clear oversight of various services, such as monitoring CPU temperature, system load, network activity, and responsiveness of network services. The system is managed through a web interface, with data presented in the form of graphs.
The system is written in Perl, uses RRDTool for graph generation and data storage, and is distributed under the GPLv2 license. The program is quite compact and self-sufficient (it includes a built-in HTTP server), allowing it to be used even on embedded systems. A wide range of monitoring parameters is supported, from tracking the operation of the task scheduler, input/output, memory distribution, and OS kernel parameters to visualizing data on network interfaces and specific applications (mail servers, servers, databases, Apache, nginx).
Among the most important changes in the new release:
- A new module nvme.pm has been added for monitoring NVMe (NVM Express) storage devices. Monitored parameters include: drive temperature, load, recorded errors, and write operation intensity.
- A new module amdgpu.pm has been added for tracking the status of an arbitrary number of AMD GPUs. The dynamics of such parameters as temperature, power consumption, fan speed, video memory usage, and GPU frequency fluctuations are monitored.
- A new module nvidiagpu.pm has been added for advanced monitoring of NVIDIA GPU-based graphics cards (a more advanced version of the previously available nvidia.pm module).
- The traffic monitoring module traffacct.pm has been updated with additional features. support for IPv6.
- A full-screen web application mode has been implemented for the interface.
