A new version of the package has been released , which contains the smartctl and smartd applications for monitoring and controlling (S)ATA, SCSI/SAS, and NVMe drives that support SMART technology. It is compatible with Linux, FreeBSD, Darwin (macOS), Windows, QNX, OS/2, Solaris, NetBSD, and OpenBSD platforms.
Key :
- Support for ATA ACS-4 and ACS-5 commands has been extended when outputting information using 'smartctl -i';
- In smartd, an issue with scheduled tests being skipped when the clock is set back has been resolved. Local time is now displayed instead of UTC in the logs when the '-A' option is specified.
- Support for device type '-d jmb39x,N' has been added for drives connected via JMicron JMB39x;
- The database of HDD, SSD, and USB drives has been expanded;
- Auto-detection of the type '-d sntjmicron' for JMicron USB-NVMe bridges has been ensured;
- In FreeBSD, issues with accessing NVMe have been resolved, building in FreeBSD 12 has been established, and the update-smart-drivedb script has been transitioned to load using the 'fetch' utility;
- In Windows, the ability to use Windows names for NVMe drives has been implemented. The options '-t' and '-w' for wtssendmsg for Windows have been implemented.
