The sixth maintenance update for Debian 12 has been released, which includes accumulated package updates and installer fixes. The release contains 162 updates addressing stability issues and 84 updates fixing vulnerabilities.
Key changes in Debian 12.6 include updates to the latest stable versions of packages such as clamav, dpdk, flatpak, nvidia, openssl, ovn, postfix, postgresql-15, qemu, and systemd. The following packages have been removed: phppgadmin (incompatible with the supplied version of PostgreSQL), pytest-salt-factories (used by a package not included in Debian 12), ruby-arel (deprecated and incompatible with ruby-activerecord 6.1.x), spip (incompatible with the supplied version of PHP), and vasttrafik-cli (API support discontinued).
Installation images for Debian 12.6 will be prepared for download and installation 'from scratch' in the coming hours. Previously installed systems that are kept up to date will receive the updates included in Debian 12.6 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are available to users as updates are released via the security.debian.org service.
At the same time, a new release of the previous stable branch Debian 11.10 is available, which includes 62 updates addressing stability issues and 76 updates fixing vulnerabilities. The packages nvidia-graphics-drivers, postfix, postgresql-13 have been updated to their latest stable versions. The following packages have been removed: phppgadmin, pytest-salt-factories, pytest-testinfra, salt (support discontinued), and snort (support discontinued).
