The first corrective update for the Debian 11 distribution has been released, incorporating package updates issued over the two months since the new branch was launched and fixing issues in the installer. The release includes 75 updates addressing stability issues and 35 updates fixing vulnerabilities. Notable changes in Debian 11.1 include updates to the latest stable versions of packages such as clamav, dpdk, flatpak, galera, gnome-maps, gnome-shell, mariadb, mutter, postgresql, and ublock-origin.
Installation builds will be prepared in the coming hours for downloading and fresh installs, along with a live iso-hybrid of Debian 11.1. Previously installed systems that remain updated will receive updates included in Debian 11.1 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are made available to users as updates are released via the service security.debian.org.
A new release of the previous stable branch, Debian 10.11, is also available, which includes 55 updates addressing stability issues and 50 updates fixing vulnerabilities. Packages birdtray (which lost compatibility with the current version of Thunderbird) and libprotocol-acme-perl (which only supports an older version of the ACME protocol) have been removed from the repository.
