The second corrective update for the Debian 11 distribution has been released, which includes accumulated package updates and addresses issues in the installer. The release includes 64 updates that fix stability issues and 30 updates that address vulnerabilities.
Notable changes in Debian 11.2 include updates to the latest stable versions of containerd, golang (1.15), and python-django. Support for system calls from new Linux kernel releases, up to version 5.15, has been added to libseccomp. The rustc-mozilla package has been added, necessary for building new versions of firefox-esr and thunderbird from source. The wget utility has resolved an issue with downloading files larger than 2GB on 32-bit systems.
Installation images for 'fresh installation' will soon be prepared, along with a live iso-hybrid of Debian 11.2. Systems installed previously and kept up to date will receive the updates present in Debian 11.2 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are available to users as updates are released through the security.debian.org service.
