The OpenWrt distribution 24.10.2 has been released, developed for networking devices such as routers, switches, and access points. OpenWrt supports 2771 devices and offers a build system that simplifies cross-compilation and the creation of custom builds. These builds allow for the creation of ready-made firmware with a desired set of pre-installed packages, optimized for specific tasks. Ready-made builds have been published for 39 target platforms.

- Problems with building using GCC 15 have been fixed.
- Broadcom NetXtreme-C/E, DesignWare I2C, DesignWare SPI, Huawei HINIC, Microchip ENC28J60 SPI Ethernet drivers have been added to the base kernel (generic).
- During system boot, the loading of kernel modules kmod-r8101, kmod-r8125, kmod-r8126, kmod-r8127, and kmod-r8168 has been ensured. The ENABLE_MULTIPLE_TX_QUEUE option is included in modules kmod-r8125, kmod-r8126, and kmod-r8127.
- The kernel package has been updated to version 6.6.93 (previously 6.6.86). The ucode code base and netifd have been updated.
- Drivers kmod-phy-realtek and kmod-r8169 have been backported from Linux kernel 6.16. The kmod-r8125 driver has been updated to version 9.016.00, and the bcm27xx-gpu-fw package to version 1.20250430.
- An unresolved issue remains with the 5GHz Wi-Fi band operation on some devices with ath10k chips, such as the TP-Link Archer C60 v1.
