An update for the Static Linux distribution has been published, based on the Alpine Linux package base and offering an environment based on Linux kernel 6.1.60, the Musl standard library, and BusyBox tools. The graphical environment is based on the Labwc compositor utilizing Wayland, along with the CoreFM file manager, CoreImage image viewer, CorePad text editor, CoreTerminal terminal emulator, and mpv media player. It also includes utilities for data recovery (ddrescue, testdisk, photorec).
The kernel and root file system are compiled into a single file for booting on UEFI systems (Secure Boot is not supported). To install, simply download the bootx64.efi file (84 MB) and place it in the /efi/boot/ directory on a FAT32 filesystem. Currently, 267 packages are statically compiled, with plans to increase their number.
