The release of the text recognition program dpScreenOCR 1.5.1, which utilizes Tesseract, has taken place. dpScreenOCR allows users to capture any area of the screen using a global hotkey and mouse, from which text will be recognized. Depending on the user's choice, the program can copy the recognized text to the clipboard, add it to the history, or send it to an external program. Ready-built packages are available for Linux and Windows (package repositories for Debian and Ubuntu are also provided). The program's code is written in C++ and is distributed under the zlib license.
In the new version:
- The Tesseract OCR engine has been updated to version 5.5.2.
- The program is now available in the Microsoft Store.
- Packages for the AArch64 architecture are provided in the repository for Debian and Ubuntu.
- A problem has been fixed that caused empty windows to appear momentarily when launching the program.
- Translations into Croatian and French have been updated.
