Windows 10 is experiencing issues again. This time they are related to the security update KB4528760. When attempting to install it, the system several errors, which have already been reported on the Microsoft support forum.
The issue arises both during automatic downloads and installations, as well as with manual updates. According to available data, the patch triggers error 0xc000000e and in some cases leads to a 'blue screen of death'. One user reported that after installing patches KB4532938, KB4528760, and KB2538243 and rebooting, he encountered a BSOD. Ironically, this is the very update that closes the vulnerability the NSA.
It is believed that the root of the problem lies in the Microsoft Connect application, which many users have removed. It seems that updates simply do not install correctly without it. If it has been deleted, a system reinstall may be necessary.
Despite numerous reports online and in forums, Microsoft has not acknowledged the issue, so users must wait and, if possible, refrain from installing updates if the Microsoft Connect application has been removed.
