Today, October 16, 2023, a new release of OpenBSD was issued — version 7.4.
In addition to being the 55th release, this new version is traditionally packed with improvements, such as:
- the introduction of functionality for updating AMD processor microcode, including fixes for the ‘Zenbleed’ bug;
- updating DRM and graphics drivers;
- numerous enhancements to the SMP subsystem (fewer locks in the kernel!);
- improvements in the VMM/VMD subsystem;
- expanded support for a wide range of hardware (including Baikal-M PCIe!);
- many, many other changes.
