The Ænix team, in collaboration with the community, has released a new COSI driver for the distributed file system SeaweedFS, allowing the use of the COSI (Container Object Storage Interface) to integrate SeaweedFS support into Kubernetes. The driver introduces new entities such as BucketClaim, Bucket, and BucketAccess for the declared definition of object storage containers (S3 Bucket) and access management based on the PVC (Persistent Volume Claim) principle. The driver code is written in Go, published under the Apache 2.0 license, and has been handed over to the SeaweedFS community. Work is underway to add S3 Bucket support to the Cozystack PaaS platform, which will enable automatic bucket provisioning directly from Kubernetes.
