The results of the redesign of the sidebar in the new interface of the Thunderbird email client have been revealed, which is planned to be offered in July in version 115. The new interface is expected to be user-friendly for beginners while remaining familiar and convenient for long-time users.
Key Improvements:
- A new unified layout mode for the folder panel has been added, making it easier for beginners to understand.
Long-time users will have the option to disable this mode and revert to the classic view.
- A new header for the sidebar replaces the toolbar, combining buttons for receiving messages, composing a message, and accessing a menu for customizing the panel's content and returning to classic mode.
- The sidebar now features separate sections for local folders and tags, which can be hidden if desired.
