Five years after the release of the previous version, the specialized boot image Super Grub2 Disk 2.06s4 is now available, designed to facilitate the booting of any systems in situations where users encounter bootloader damage, inability to load the system, or overwriting the main bootloader in multi-OS setups. It offers a menu-based console interface for managing and searching for available boot systems. It supports partitions with LVM and RAID, encrypted partitions (LUKS1, LUKS2, and geli), as well as booting from EFI, ieee1275, and CoreBoot. Recovery modes for various distributions such as Linux, FreeBSD, FreeDOS, macOS, GNU/Hurd, ReactOS, and different versions of Windows (starting from Windows 98) are provided. The size of the boot image for writing to a USB flash drive is 97 MB.
The new version features a transition to the bootloader GNU GRUB 2.06. Support has been added for the LUKS2 disk encryption format, BTRFS file system, booting Linux from the /boot partition, and working with disk partitions using labels. Support for booting the ReactOS operating system and Debian and Arch builds based on the GNU/Hurd kernel has been implemented. Additionally, it allows booting Debian and Ubuntu in UEFI Secure Boot mode.
