Altair has released the source code of the RADIOSS package as part of the OpenRADIOSS project. This package is analogous to LS-DYNA and is designed to address tasks in continuum mechanics, such as the strength calculations of engineering structures in highly nonlinear problems involving significant plastic deformations of the medium in question. The code is primarily written in Fortran and is open under the AGPLv3 license. It supports operation in Linux and Windows.
The project addresses tasks related to metal forming, sheet stamping, and rapid processes that require an equation of state. Additionally, it supports fluid mechanics and gas dynamics in the classical Eulerian formulation, using the Lagrangian-Eulerian approach and the smoothed particle method. The main difference between OpenRADIOSS and the commercial version of RADIOSS at this time is the lack of the ability to encrypt project files. ParaView is used as the post-processor.
