Linux Foundation Organization The eighth release of the distribution (Automotive Grade Linux Unified Code Base), within which a universal platform for use in various automotive subsystems is developed, from dashboards to automotive infotainment systems.
The distribution is based on the developments of the projects , and . The graphical environment is based on Qt, Wayland, and the developments of the Weston IVI Shell project. Demonstration builds of the platform for QEMU, Renesas M3 boards, Intel Minnowboard Max (Atom E38xx), TI Vayu, and Raspberry Pi 3. With community involvement builds for NXP i.MX6 boards,

. Companies such as Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru are involved in the project development.
AGL UCB can be used by automakers as a framework for creating final solutions, after conducting the necessary adaptation for the hardware and customizing the interface. The platform allows focusing primarily on the development of applications and personal methods of organizing user work, without worrying about the low-level infrastructure and minimizing maintenance costs. The project is completely open — all components are available under free licenses.
A set of working prototypes of typical applications is provided, created using HTML5 and Qt technologies. For example, implementation of a home screen, web browser, instrument panel, navigation system (using Google Maps), climate control, multimedia player with DLNA support, sound system configuration interface, news reading application. Components for voice control, information searching, smartphone interaction via Bluetooth, and connection to the CAN network for access to sensors and data transmission between vehicle nodes are offered.

- A BSP package (Board Support Package) has been added for SanCloud BeagleBone Enhanced + Automotive Cape boards. BSP packages for
Renesas RCar3 BSPs have been updated. The i.MX6 package has been transitioned to use the open graphics driver etnaviv for the Vivante GPU. Initial support for the Raspberry Pi 4 board (agl-image-minimal) has been added. - Integration of the speech synthesis system with the Alexa Voice Agent has been ensured.
