The American enterprise-class network equipment supplier Cisco has begun layoffs, which were announced during the latest quarterly report, according to The Register. This measure, part of a restructuring effort, aims to redirect the company's focus to more promising areas. Cisco intends to cut about 5% of its workforce, or around 4,250 employees. The last significant layoff occurred just over a year ago. Even senior management at Cisco are not exempt from these layoffs. Among those set to be let go is Maria Martinez, the Chief Operating Officer since May 2021, whose position was eliminated as part of the restructuring.
