Cloudflare's content delivery network, serving about 20% of global web traffic, published its annual report with statistics and analysis of trends in the global network for 2025. Key findings include:
- In 2025, global internet traffic increased by 19%, with significant traffic growth beginning in August. In comparison, traffic growth in 2024 was 17.2%.

- Share of web browsers:
- Overall statistics: Chrome — 66.2%, Safari — 15.4%, Edge — 7.4%, Firefox — 3.7%, Samsung Internet — 2.3%.
- In Russia, the share of Chrome is 44%, while Yandex Browser accounts for 33%.
- Desktops: Chrome — 67.9%, Edge — 14.4%, Firefox — 6.7%, Safari — 6.2%, Opera — 2.2%.
- Mobile devices: Chrome — 64.4%, Safari — 24.6%, Samsung Internet — 4.7%, QQ Browser — 0.7%.
- 71% of traffic is on IPv4, while 29% is on IPv6. In 2024, the share of IPv6 was 28%. In Russia, the share of IPv6 is estimated at 8.6%, in India at 67%, and in France at 50%.
- 57% of requests are sent from desktop systems, while 43% are from mobile devices. In 2024, the share of mobile devices was 41%.
- The share of iOS in mobile device traffic increased from 33 to 35% over the year. The share of Android decreased from 67 to 65%.
- Based on the analysis of queries to the DNS server 1.1.1.1, the rankings are calculated:
- Top 10 most popular internet services: Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Instagram, AWS, YouTube, TikTok, Amazon, WhatsApp. Compared to 2024, Microsoft, Instagram, and YouTube moved up one position, while Amazon Web Services (AWS) fell one position, and TikTok fell four positions.
- Top 10 AI services: OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Character.AI, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf AI, QuillBot, xAI Grok, DeepSeek. Compared to 2024, Perplexity, Claude/Anthropic, and GitHub Copilot climbed the rankings. New entries include Google Gemini, Windsurf AI, Grok/xAI, and DeepSeek.
- Top 10 social networks: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Kwai, Discord, Pinterest, Reddit. Compared to 2024, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Kwai improved their rankings. TikTok, X/Twitter, and Discord saw declines.
- Top 10 messengers: WhatsApp, QQ, Telegram, Viber, Signal, WeChat, LINE, Messenger, Zalo.me, KakaoTalk. Compared to 2024, Signal, Messenger, Zalo.me, and KakaoTalk improved their rankings. WeChat's ranking decreased.
- Top 10 gaming platforms: Roblox, PlayStation, Xbox/Xbox Live, Epic Games/Fortnite, Steam, Electronic Arts, Blizzard, Minecraft, Riot Games/League of Legends, Nintendo.
- Share of search engines: Google — 89.5%, Bing — 3.1%, Yandex — 2%, Baidu — 1.4%, DuckDuckGo — 1.2%.
- Traffic on Starlink doubled in 2025. Internet access via Starlink has become available in 20 new regions.
- The share of human requests for HTML pages in total traffic was 43.5%, the share of Googlebot was 4.5%, the share of AI bots was 4.2%, and the remaining bots accounted for 47.9%.

- The share of web traffic generated by humans, which uses algorithms resistant to brute force attacks by quantum computers, increased from 29% to 52% over the year. This significant growth is attributed to the introduction of support for such encryption algorithms in iOS 26.
- 28% of traffic from verified bots came from Googlebot, while 7.5% came from OpenAI GPTBot. The share of search indexers in total bot traffic was 40%, AI bots 20%, and SEO bots 13%.

- The activity of the OAI-SearchBot increased fivefold in 2025, while the Anthropic ClaudeBot doubled, and the Perplexity PerplexityBot increased by 3.5 times.
- The activity of AI bots related to sending requests in response to user inquiries increased fifteenfold over the year.
- In the robots.txt file, the bots GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and CCBot are most frequently completely blocked.

- 50% of requests to Cloudflare were sent using the HTTP/2 protocol, 29% using HTTP/1.x, and 21% using HTTP/3. In 2024, the share of HTTP/1.x was 30%.
- The most popular JavaScript library remains jQuery, with Slick in second place lagging behind by a factor of eight.

- Among JavaScript frameworks for creating web interfaces, React leads with 37%, followed by Vue.js at 19%, Next.js at 16%, Nuxt.js at 8.4%, Gatsby at 4.6%, and RequireJS at 2.9%.
- The most popular content management system remains WordPress, valued at 47%, followed by Adobe Experience Manager at 16%, Contentful at 8%, and Drupal at 4.7%. The most popular marketing platforms are HubSpot (30%), Marketo (14%), and MailChimp (12%).
- Popular web frameworks: Next.js — 38%, Express — 21%, Nuxt.js — 20%, Microsoft ASP.NET — 10%, Ruby on Rails — 4.9%, Yii — 2.3%, Spring — 2.1%, Django — 0.52%.
- Popular programming languages: PHP — 45%, node.js — 33%, Java — 15%, Ruby — 2.2%, Python — 1.9%, Perl — 0.98%, C — 0.87%.
- 20% of all automated API requests are made from clients in Go (12% in 2024), 17% from Python (9.6% in 2024), 11.2% from Java (7.4%), 8.3% from Node.js, and 2.3% from .NET.

- During the reporting period, 174 significant outages were identified, of which 83 were caused by government-mandated shutdowns, 25 were related to power outages, 19 to cable cuts, 14 to technical issues, 5 to fires, 5 to weather conditions, 3 to attacks, 2 to natural disasters, 2 to configuration errors, 1 to network problems, and 1 to DNS issues.
- 6.2% of traffic was blocked as potentially harmful or undesirable for individual clients. In 3.3% of cases, the blocks were related to DDoS attack protection or WAF (Web Application Firewall) blocking.
- More than 5% of analyzed emails were deemed malicious.
- DDoS attacks reached a peak intensity of 31 Tbps. The largest attacks this year surpassed previous peak values by 10 times in traffic and 7 times in the number of packets.
- 40% of bot traffic originates from the US, with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud accounting for a quarter of all bot traffic.
