The release of the note-taking application OutWiker 4.1 has been published. The application stores notes in the form of directories with text files, allowing an arbitrary number of files to be attached to each note. Notes can be created using HTML formatting, wiki, and Markdown (if the appropriate plugin is installed). Plugins can also add the ability to include formulas in LaTeX format on wiki pages and insert code blocks with syntax highlighting for various programming languages. The application is written in Python (with a wxPython interface), distributed under the GPLv3 license, and is available in builds for Linux (snap and flatpak) and Windows.
Changes in version 4.1:
- Added the ability to create a note based on selected text in an open note.
- Support for opening a note in a new tab immediately after its creation has been added.
- Implemented sorting of notes by creation or modification date.
- Added configuration for tag cloud colors.
- Ensured the preservation of scroll position in view mode.

- Resolved issues with the application's operation in window managers using Wayland on Linux.
Work on the next version of OutWiker 5.0 has begun, which will use a newer HTML engine Edge for Windows, but support for Windows 7 has been discontinued.
