Vulnerabilities (CVE-2023-1017, CVE-2023-1018) have been discovered in the reference code of the TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) specification, leading to writing or reading data outside the allocated buffer. An attack on implementations of cryptoprocessors using vulnerable code could lead to the extraction or overwriting of information stored on the chip, such as cryptographic keys. The ability to overwrite data in the TPM firmware may be […]

The source code of the initial implementation of a virtual machine developed from scratch has been published. The project is notable for having the code written in a Russian version of C (for instance, instead of int — it is цел, long — длин, for — это для, if — если, return — вернуть, etc.). The localization of the language is achieved through macro substitution and is implemented using the inclusion of two header files ru_stdio.h and keywords.h. The source […]
The GNOME Shell user interface and the Mutter compositor have been fully transitioned to use the GTK4 library, eliminating the hard dependency on GTK3. Additionally, the dependency gnome-desktop-3.0 has been replaced with gnome-desktop-4 and gnome-bg-4, while libnma has been updated to libnma4. Overall, GNOME still remains tied to GTK3, as not all applications and libraries have been ported to GTK4. For example, on GTK3 […]
