The OpenSSL project has announced long-term support for the OpenSSL 3.0 cryptographic library branch, with updates to be released for five years from the date of release, i.e., until September 7, 2026. The formation of the UCIe (Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express) consortium has been announced, aimed at developing open specifications and creating an ecosystem for chiplet technology. Chiplets allow the creation of combined hybrid integrated circuits (multi-chip modules) made up of independent semiconductor blocks that are not tied to a single manufacturer and interact with each other using the standard high-speed UCIe interface. After one and a half years of development, the Wine project has published the vkd3d 1.3 release, featuring Direct3D 12, which operates through call translation to the Vulkan graphics API. The package includes the libvkd3d libraries implementing Direct3D 12, libvkd3d-shader with a translator for shader models 4 and 5, and libvkd3d-utils with functions to simplify porting of Direct3D 12 applications, along with a set of demonstration examples.
The development of the openSUSE Leap 15.4 distribution has entered the beta testing stage. The release is based on a core set of packages common with the SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 4 distribution and also includes some user applications from the openSUSE Tumbleweed repository. A universal DVD installation image, sized 3.9 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x), is available for download. The openSUSE Leap 15.4 release is expected on June 8, 2022.
