A corrective update Firefox 77.0.1 has been released, which disables the automatic selection of the DNS over HTTPS (DoH) provider during testing for a gradual rollout to avoid peak loads on DoH providers. The testing check for DoH implemented in Firefox 77, which sends 10 trial requests from each client, turned into a sort of DDoS attack on the NextDNS service, which could not handle it.
Sylvestre Ledru has published the results of rebuilding the Debian GNU/Linux package archive using the Clang 10 compiler instead of GCC. Out of 31,014 packages, 1,400 (4.5%) failed to build, but by applying an additional patch to the Debian toolchain, the number of unbuilt packages was reduced to 1,110 (3.6%). For comparison, when building with Clang 8 and 9, the number of packages that could not be built was higher.
