The developers of the distribution have announced the planned freeze dates for the eleventh version of the distribution Debian 11 'Bullseye'. The stable version's release date is set for mid-2021.
Approximate freeze plan:
- January 12, 2021 — the first stage, during which updates to packages requiring changes in dependencies of other packages will be halted, leading to the temporary movement of packages from the testing branch. Updates to packages included in build-essential will also be stopped
- February 12, 2021 — the 'soft' freeze stage, during which the addition of new packages will be closed
- March 12, 2021 — the 'hard' freeze stage, during which the transfer of packages from unstable to testing will be completely halted and the testing phase before the release will begin.
