The first test release of the mobile platform Tizen 5.5

Introduced first milestone release of the mobile platform Tizen 5.5. The release is aimed at familiarizing developers with the platform's new capabilities. Code is provided is licensed under GPLv2, Apache 2.0, and BSD. Builds are created are available for the emulator, Raspberry Pi 3, odroid u3, odroid x u3, artik 710/530/533, and various mobile platforms based on armv7l and arm64 architectures.

The project is being developed under the auspices of the Linux Foundation, primarily driven by Samsung. The platform continues the development of the MeeGo and LiMO projects, offering the ability to use Web API and web technologies (HTML5/JavaScript/CSS) for creating mobile applications. The graphical environment is based on the Wayland protocol and the Enlightenment project's developments, with Systemd used to manage services.

Features Tizen 5.5 M1:

• Added built-in speech recognition engine;
• Introduced the Multi-assistant framework, enabling the simultaneous use of various voice assistants;
• Support for the .NET Wearable UI (Tizen.Wearable.CircularUI) 1.2.0 extension has been added to the application development toolkit on the .NET platform;
• Added a program for viewing animations in Lottie format;
• Added support for high-resolution displays (4K/8K);
• Implemented a framework for updating the Web Engine browser engine;
• Added the WRTjs JavaScript framework;
• Enabled the ability to download Smack access control rules directly from the security manager's database. Support for placing rules in files has been discontinued;
• Improved memory management for long-running processes;
• New types of notifications for various types of information have been implemented;
• Experimental frameworks Neural Network Runtime and Neural Network Streamer have been added for use in machine learning methods applications;
• The DALi subsystem (3D UI Toolkit) has been updated with a property for controlling rendering behavior and supporting simultaneous rendering of multiple windows;
• EFL (Enlightenment Foundation Library) libraries have been updated to version 1.22. The Mesa package has been updated to release 19.0.0. Wayland has been updated to version 1.16.0. The Wayland extension tizen_launch_appinfo has been implemented, allowing the display server to retrieve application information, such as the process PID. Support for the Vulkan graphics API has been updated.
