The Pine64 community, known for its free laptops Pinebook and Pinebook Pro, has announced the start of production of a new free smartphone running Plasma Mobile — PinePhone. The first batch will be released at the end of 2019, but only for developers. Sales in stores will begin in March 2020.
In addition to Plasma Mobile, images of Maemo Leste, UBPorts, PostmarketOS, and LuneOS are offered. Moreover, the community is working on adding images of NixOS, Nemo Mobile, and SailfishOS.
The OS can be installed directly from an SD card.
Approximate price — 149$ (but this may change).
