Currently, Windows 10 is the most popular operating system for PCs in the world. It surpasses the once highly popular Windows 7, which still has about 300,000 users worldwide, despite support having ended in January of this year.
Microsoft emphasizes that Windows 10 has significantly impacted the computer market, encouraging device manufacturers to experiment with form factors. At the end of this year, Windows 10X will be launched, which is expected to push manufacturers to begin mass production of dual-screen devices.
Windows 10 runs on more than 80,000 different models of laptops and 2-in-1 devices from over 1,000 different manufacturers. Currently, it is the only desktop platform that is focused on and, importantly, optimized for use on devices of various form factors.
