A new Static Linux distribution has been prepared, based on Alpine Linux, musl libc, and BusyBox, notable for being delivered as an image that runs from RAM and boots directly from UEFI. The image includes the JWM window manager, Firefox, Transmission, and data recovery utilities ddrescue, testdisk, photorec. Currently, 210 packages are statically compiled, with plans to increase this number in the future.
The kernel and root filesystem are packed into a single file for systems booting via UEFI (Secure Boot is not supported). To install, simply download the bootx64.efi file (222 MB) and place it on a FAT32 formatted drive in the directory X:/efi/boot/bootx64.efi. Additionally, a version with a graphical environment based on Wayland (156 MB) is prepared, which utilizes Linux kernel 6.0.3, labwc, yambar, weston-terminal, mpv, and provides libinput functionality without udev.
