Developers from PanicBarn and publisher No More Robots announced that Not Tonight will be ported to the Nintendo Switch by the end of the year. This game, reminiscent of Papers, Please in gameplay, will carry the subtitle Take Back Control Edition on the new platform.
The setting for the project is an alternate Britain, where Brexit has already happened and ultra-right representatives have come to power. The main character works as a bouncer in various establishments, while trying to choose between hope for a bright future and joining the resistance forces ready to oppose the regime.
The character will stand at the doors of bars, clubs, and entertainment complexes, checking visitors' ID cards. As the plot unfolds, more conditions will arise: sometimes residents of certain countries cannot be admitted, sometimes it is necessary to cross-check with a guest list and send others away. Plus, there's the need to verify everyone’s birth dates—minors are almost never allowed in. The better you perform, the better the rewards for your shift will be.
Not Tonight resonated well with fans of Papers, Please — it boasts 85% positive reviews, and many user reviews contain comparisons to Lucas Pope's popular project. The Switch version will include the One Love expansion — a bonus chapter continuing the story of the main game.
