Kotaku reporter Ethan Gach, citing sources from the publication, explaineddiscussed how long fans of the post-apocalyptic open-world action game Horizon from Guerrilla Games will have to wait for the continuation Horizon Forbidden West.

Plans for the continuation of Horizon Forbidden West were confirmed by Guerrilla back in spring 2023. Nothing has been heard about the project since then, but last week the studio announced the cooperative game service Horizon Hunters Gathering.
Kotaku sources confirmed the recent statements by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier that a large portion of Guerrilla's staff is occupied with Horizon Hunters Gathering, while Horizon 3 is still far from release.
According to Kotaku, Guerrilla management has pulled 'many employees' from working on Horizon 3 to focus on Horizon Hunters Gathering, which Sony aims to make its new multiplayer hit.
As for the continuation of Forbidden West given Guerrilla's current priorities, according to one of Kotaku's informants, it will take between three to five years to await the sequel — at this pace, the game risks becoming a PS6 exclusive.
