The release of Amelia 5.8, an alternative console installer for Arch Linux written in Bash and distributed under the GPLv3 license, has been published. Navigation through the installable packages, settings, and installation modes is done through a menu system that allows switching between setup stages before running the actual installation.
Manual and automatic partitioning is supported, enabling the use of Ext4 and Btrfs, installation of standard desktop environments, encryption of swap partitions, root, and home directories, configuration of locale and keyboard layout, and setting Linux kernel parameters. The installer is launched after booting the official Arch Linux ISO image by downloading the script with the curl utility or copying it from a USB drive. There is a demo mode that allows testing the installer on an existing system without executing the installation.

Additionally: A new version of the Archinstall installer 2.8.1 has been released, which has been included as an option in the Arch Linux installation ISO images since April 2021. Archinstall operates in console mode and can be used instead of the default manual installation mode of the distribution. A graphical interface implementation is being developed separately, but it is not included in the Arch Linux installation images and has not been updated for over three years.
