Presented by people.kernel.org, a blogging service for Linux kernel developers

Introduced A new service for Linux kernel developers — people.kernel.org, which aims to fill the gap left by the closure of Google+. Many kernel developers, including Linus Torvalds, used to blog on Google+, and after its shutdown, they felt the need for a platform that allows occasional posting in a format different from the LKML mailing list.

The service people.kernel.org is built using a free decentralized platform WriteFreely, focused on blogging and allowing the use of the ActivityPub protocol to link into a federated network. The platform supports content formatting in Markdown. Currently, the ability to create a blog on people.kernel.org is only available to developers included in the maintainers' list. For those not listed, creating a blog is possible if recommended by one of the maintainers.

Note: The host where people.kernel.org is deployed is subject to blocking by Roskomnadzor and is inaccessible in Russia, along with over thirty other sites of various free projects.
