The release of the education-focused distribution Debian Edu 11, also known as Skolelinux, has been prepared. This distribution contains an integrated installation image for quickly deploying both servers and workstations in schools, supporting stationary workstations in computer classrooms as well as portable systems. Installation images are available at sizes of 438 MB and 5.8 GB.
Debian Edu is out of the box adapted for organizing computer classrooms based on diskless workstations and thin clients that boot over the network. The distribution includes several types of desktop environments, allowing Debian Edu to be used on both the latest PCs and outdated hardware. Available desktop environments include Xfce, GNOME, LXDE, MATE, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon, and LXQt. The basic package includes over 60 educational packages.
