Developers of the GNOME project have presented a new application directory at apps.gnome.org, featuring a selection of the best applications created in accordance with the GNOME community philosophy and seamlessly integrated with the desktop. It offers three sections: main applications, additional applications from the community developed under the GNOME Circle initiative, and applications for developers. The directory also includes mobile applications created using GNOME technologies, which are marked with a special icon.
Key features of the directory include:
- A focus on engaging users in the development process through feedback submission, participation in translating the interface into different languages, and providing financial support.
- Availability of description translations for a large number of languages, including Russian, Belarusian, and Ukrainian.
- Provision of up-to-date version information based on metadata used in GNOME Software and Flathub.
- The ability to host applications that are not available in the Flathub directory (for example, applications from the basic distribution).
