Hans De Goede (), a developer of Fedora Linux working at Red Hat, the "Wayland Itches" project aimed at fixing bugs and addressing issues that arise during everyday use of the GNOME desktop running on Wayland.
Although Fedora has long offered a GNOME session based on Wayland by default, Hans is of libinput and the input system for Wayland, until recently, he continued to use an X server session in everyday work due to various minor issues in the Wayland environment. Hans decided to address these problems himself, switched to Wayland by default, and founded the "Wayland Itches" project, in which he started fixing bugs and issues as they appeared. Currently, he has successfully made the TopIcons extension work with Wayland (there had been issues with crashing, high CPU load, and non-responsive clicks on icons) and resolved problems with hotkeys and shortcuts in VirtualBox virtual machines. Hans tried switching to the of Firefox with Wayland, but had to revert to the x11 build , which he is currently trying to resolve together with Mozilla developers.
