Facebook (banned in the Russian Federation) has transferred the PyTorch machine learning framework to the Linux Foundation, whose infrastructure and services will be utilized in further development. The transition to the Linux Foundation will free the project from dependency on a single commercial company and simplify collaboration with external participants. A PyTorch Foundation has been established to develop PyTorch under the auspices of the Linux Foundation. Companies such as AMD, AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, and NVIDIA, along with developers from Meta, have already announced their support for the project and formed a governing project council.
