rdesktop is an open-source UNIX client designed for connecting to Windows Remote Desktop Services.
The only maintainer of the project recently has been Cendio, as rdesktop has been a key component in their commercial product. However, the company decided to focus on Linux desktops, which has diminished the relevance of supporting rdesktop for them.
An announcement seeking new maintainers was posted on November 25, but it likely went unnoticed, and there have been no volunteers to take over the maintenance.
However, Cendio is not giving up hope of finding new maintainers and, instead of quietly discontinuing support, they sent emails to the maintainers of various GNU/Linux distributions (Debian, ArchLinux, Gentoo, openSUSE, etc.).

Unfortunately, we are the only maintainers, so the project needs a
replacement.
Would you guys be willing to fill that role? Or do you know of anyone
else that might?
We’d like to make sure the users aren’t abandoned and that someone can
