Profanity 0.18.0

A new version of the Profanity console XMPP client, written in C, has been quietly released.

New features:

• Support for syntax highlighting during spell checking has been added. (#2132).
• Support for asynchronous calls to external editors has been implemented. (#2145) and (#1888).

Bug fixes:

• Missing files for builds with libomemo-c have been added. (#2133).
• Improved command autocomplete and parsing when using quotes. (#2139).
• A critical crash when loading MAM for a contact with an empty database has been fixed. (#2144).
• An error when deleting entries in the accounts file has been corrected. (#2145).
• Proper shutdown on loss of connection to X11 has been implemented. (#2140).
• The content of the key is ignored if there is no payload. (#2147).
• Escaping contact names with a backslash has been implemented. #2139.
• Access to TTY for eval_password commands has been restored. (#2145).
• Standardized management of PreKey keys to prevent decryption errors. (#2137).
• A check for the 'by' attribute in stanza-id and MAM results has been added. (#2136).

Miscellaneous:

• This release can only be built using Meson. Support for Autotools has been removed.
• Release years in the doap file have been corrected.
• The ability to build libstrophe as a subproject has been added. (#2141).
